During a walk around Ardnave I was given an unexpected show at Ardnave Point: A Great Skua / Bonxie decided to have a go at a Heron. The attack only lasted about a minute and I’m not sure if it was successful, but it was amazing to see.

Great Skua / Bonxie vs Heron (2), Isle of IslayAnother look at the Great Skua / Bonxie vs Heron aerial tussle near Ardnave Point in the north of Islay. The Heron almost upside down, fighting off the Great Skua / Bonxie.
