Panoramic picture of a sunset seen through a gap between dunes behind a beach — Saligo Bay dunes sunset panorama, Isle of Islay

A beautiful June evening on the west coast of Islay, standing on the top of one of the highest dunes overlooking Saligo Bay. At this time of year the sun sets quite far north and while doing that shines right into this gap in the dunes.

Saligo Bay dunes panorama, Isle of IslayA few days after the same view at sunset (on the longest day of 2019 to be precise), but a few hours earlier. A view from one of the highest dunes at Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay, looking over the dunes and beach. The sun still quite high in the sky, about 4 hours until sunset.
