| Not the prettiest building on Islay, but any visitor to Port Ellen will be familiar with the big and functional Port Ellen Maltings building. It stands right next to the former Port Ellen distillery, one of Islay's lost distilleries. Only the warehouses remain, including the ones along the shore with the big Port Ellen lettering. The maltings mainly supply the Diageo owned distilleries, but also some of the other distilleries on the island. | |
