An impression from a mostly clear night in Machir Bay, thousands and thousands of stars in the sky above. The Milky Way just to the right of centre. A plane passing in the distance. Unfortunately some light pollution on the horizon, mainly from the Portnahaven area and the lighthouse. You can’t see it as such in the picture, but when you’re there you can see the beam from the lighthouse passing across every couple of seconds. On a long term exposure like this it does add up over time.
