A view north west from somewhere in the hills between Gortantaoid and Bridgend (that was the general route of our walk). Not sure which loch that is, there are several in the area. In the far distance you can make out Loch Gruinart and Ardnave with the Atlantic behind it.
I don’t know which bird these are from, all I know it’s a ground nesting bird and the nest was in the Ardnave area. I’m pretty sure they were identified at the time (our walk leader was from the RSPB), but the walk was over 10 years ago and my memory isn’t that good.
A view from somewhere on the moorland between Gruinart and Ardnave over to Sanaigmore. Sanaigmore Bay just right of centre, the steep and dramatic cliffs at Sanaigmore behind stretching out to the left/south.
