A beautiful June afternoon in Bowmore at the shore of Loch Indaal. The small beach in front of us with the famous Bowmore distillery at the end. In front of it on the left the community swimming pool in a converted warehouse, heating by excess heat from the distillery. Also note Beinn Tart a’ Mhill on the Rhinns of Islay in the distance.
A cloudy June afternoon on the west coast of Islay, out and about exploring Saligo. This view is from the top of the highest dune, looking down south west over the beach and the southern end of the bay with waves rolling in and breaking.
Seen from Port Askaig, the ketch Fleur de Lampaul and a sailing yacht approaching in what looks like the open sea, but is actually in the Sound of Islay. Soon after we watched them passing the small Jura lighthouse Carragh an t-Sruith.
