Watched from the MV Finlaggan on the way to Kennacraig, the new ferry MV Isle of Islay passing Dunlossit House while arriving at Port Askaig.

After first spotting her from Claggain Bay I saw the new ferry MV Isle of Islay again the next day. While on the MV Finlaggan waiting to depart to Kennacraig I got this great view of her in the Sound of Islay with the coastline of Jura in the background.

Jura hills across the Sound of Islay from Port Askaig

Looking across the Sound of Islay from a ferry moored at Port Askaig to the hills and mountains in the south of Jura. The famous Paps of Jura on the left with Beinn a’Chaolais closest to us, Beinn an Oir to the left of it. I’m not sure of the hills in the centre and to the right, I think Glas Bheinn and Dubh Beinn will be among them. Also Feolin Ferry, the landing for the Jura ferry, at the shore on the right.
