A November afternoon on Islay, somewhere on route from Kilchoman past Loch Gorm to Gruinart. Some beautiful mild low light over the low hills on Islay and the impressive Paps of Jura in the distance.
Watched from the “old” hide (south hide) at Gruinart, one of the summer visitors to Islay preening its feathers before flying on to catch insects.
While there are a good number of birds in this picture they still only represent a tiny fraction of the winter visitors to Islay. Barnacle Geese taking off at Gruinart after being spooked by something.
