It almost looks like they’re having a chat, two sheep and a Chough spotted in the machair at Ardnave. Choughs have a stronghold on Islay, in particular at Ardnave and Kilchoman.

I like Swallows, I think they are such elegant flyers. If only they weren’t so difficult to photograph, especially in flight. This shot is the only decent one from a large number of attempts one afternoon at Kilchoman. At least I’ve got both states in one picture, in flight and at rest.
