Ardbeg distillery from the pier, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of Ardbeg distillery seen from the pier with some creels on the pierSometimes I wonder if these creels are placed on the piers (they also often found at the piers at other distilleries) deliberately to make the view of the distilleries even better and provide some detail in the foreground. Like here at Ardbeg on the south coast of Islay.

Red phone box at Bunnahabhain, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of a red phone box near a playground in a coastal locationIslay’s most northerly red phone box can be found in Bunnahabhain (at least for now). Left of centre, behind the slide, you can make out some roofs of Bunnahabhain distillery (I’m not sure if the building behind the swings belongs to the distillery or the village). In the distance on the left Sgarbh Breac, at 364m the highest hill in the north of Islay.
