If anyone can give me historical details of Tallant farm, Loch Tallant, Tallant I will be very grateful.
My surname is Tallent from Stafford, England.
I am researching family history and any information would be gratefully received.
My ancestors lived here anyone anymore connections
My Browns were likely from here or connected. Certainly they were at Mulindry/Mulindrie.
Descendant of Angus Johnston and Donald Campbell any information to trace ancestor would be helpful
My Grandfather Dr Alexander Johnston was born at Tallant farm 1858 . His father farmed Tallant and he was also named Alexander Johnston and is buried at the round church in Bowmore. He was married to Margaret Cowan from Bothwell.
His father was Archibald Johnston born 1777 who was married to Catherine Keith.
Archibald’s father died before he was born and was named Alexander born 1740 son of Ronald Johnston Tacksman of Corrary which is just south of Bowmore. Alexander’s wife was Isabel Dallas.
Ronald was married first to Martha Graham and then her sister Elizabeth Graham who lived at the farm named Island next to Corrary.
