As I was walking down Kilchoman beach towards the southern end the slim bright band at the horizon grew wider. I also spotted a large group of Oystercatchers at the water’s edge, although I’m not sure to what extent Oystercatchers can appreciate the beautiful sunsets on Islay.

  1. Clouds breaking for a colourful sunset, Isle of IslayHaving left the Oystercatchers behind my walk continued to the southern end of Kilchoman beach. While the brighter sky had originally been restricted to the horizon everything now suddenly changed: The clouds broke up and the setting sun created some amazing light. The clouds above me looked like they were on fire. Hues of red, orange and yellow everywhere, a dramatic sight.
