Unfortunately I can’t remember the details around this stone Kevin Byrne pointed out to us during the Islay Walking Week 2019 excursion to Colonsay. I think it was some kind of sacrifice or slaughter stone, the blood running around the ‘ridge’ in the centre before running off on the right, something along those lines. If anyone knows please feel free to share your knowledge in the comments.
A view over the rocky coastline and cliffs in the north west of Colonsay. You can also just make out the coast of the Isle of Mull in the haze in the distance, on a clear day you would have a great view of Mull from here.
After visiting the cave we climbed up the hillside on the north of Kiloran Bay, enjoying this view south over the beach and the bay. Some clouds had started to move in, but it was still bright and nice.
