An April afternoon on the west coast of Islay, looking out over Kilchoman beach and Machir Bay from the dune path. The coastline stretching south towards Kilchiaran just visible behind the dunes.

One of the small beaches at Port Bàn on the shore of Loch Indaal. Above it, surrounded by Gorse bushes, the Kilchoman Parish war memorial.

It all looked very promising driving down the Kilchoman road on an April evening, some nice evening sun over Loch Gorm and Saligo. But when I arrived at Kilchoman beach it turned pretty much into a non-event. While I made my way through the dunes the sun disappeared behind the clouds on the horizon.
