Some know them as the Sleeping Giant, others as the Opera House Rocks, whatever you call them these cliffs near Smaull north of Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay are certainly impressive.

After the view south west now the view north west in Saligo Bay, taken on the same April 2016 evening. As mentioned earlier, the winter storms which hit Islay from the Atlantic had washed away a lot of the sand and exposed many more rocks and stones than previously visible.
