Spotted in the high grass next to the ‘back road’ from Portnahaven to Port Charlotte near Lossit Bay, a Curlew. It was running along the road, then crossed it in front of my (stopped) car, looked around and ran back. I’m told it might have been a distraction effort to lure me away from a nest.

Curlew running through high grass (2), Isle of IslayAnother take on the Curlew on the move in the high grass next to the ‘back road’ from Portnahaven to Port Charlotte near Lossit Bay. Does this look more “dynamic”? Which version do you prefer?
