An ancient sanctuary cross in a field at Kilchoman, Kilchoman church and cross are about 200 metres to the left. From what I understand the story behind the crosses (there used to be three or four of them) is that if someone had committed a crime and made it into a triangle/square made up of three of those crosses, then they were safe from prosecution (as long as they stayed within the triangle). Another surviving cross is now in the Museum of Islay Life in Port Charlotte.
