One of the best excursions from Islay is a visit to the Corryvreckan whirlpool between Jura and Scarba. Here a gull is happily floating around on the water in the whirlpool, Scarba visible in the background.

This is from a visit with Venture West in April 2023.

A nice sunny view from Islay’s neighbour Jura, looking out over the Sound of Jura to Kintyre with Arran behind it. Taken during an Islay walking week walk across the hills to Loch Tarbert.
