Bright Moon rising over the Saligo dunes, Isle of Islay

After watching a sunset on the west coast of Islay I stayed out on the beach in Saligo Bay to enjoy the beautiful light of the gloaming. Just as I was thinking about leaving I spotted the full Moon rising over the dunes. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but I hope it at least gives you an idea of the beautiful sight of the Moon coming up behind the dunes.

A beautiful June evening on the west coast of Islay, standing on the top of one of the highest dunes overlooking Saligo Bay. At this time of year the sun sets quite far north and while doing that shines right into this gap in the dunes.
