Currie Sands is one of the smallest beaches on Islay, but still very popular. While on the west coast it is protected from the Atlantic. There are nice views to the Rhinns of Islay lighthouse from the beach.

Looking down on to the mouth of Saligo River where it flows into Saligo Bay and the Atlantic. Near high tide a wave rolls in, breaks and rushes up the river for a bit.

Some beautiful June evening sun on the west coast of Islay, despite an approaching cloud bank (it moved through later, briefly blocking the sun). Looking out from between the dunes at the southern end of Saligo Bay, with the beach and the Atlantic stretching out into the distance.
