Spotted during a walk in the south east of Islay (that’s Beinn Bheigier in the background), fungi growing on a tree. I’m told they are growing on dead (or dying) trees, the rest of the tree looked pretty dead to me.
Can you spot it? Needs a tiny wee bit of imagination, but it’s there. Right in the centre of the picture. Tilt your head sideways if necessary and you’ll spot the eyes and the mouth.
An impression from an Islay walking week a few years back, the walkers on the way into the hills in the south east of Islay. Not 100% sure, but I think that’s Beinn Bheigier in the distance.
