Cliffs below Beinn Mhor on the Oa, Isle of Islay

Picture of some high steep cliffs on a bright sunny daySome of the most impressive landscape on Islay is on the Oa. These are some of the impressive cliffs below Beinn Mhòr (202m). In the distance on the left you can also just make out Ireland on the other side of the North Channel. I took this picture during the Islay walking week in April 2006.

Cliffs on the Oa in 1999, Isle of Islay

One of my oldest Islay pictures, taken in 1999. Still taken with film (I bought my first digital camera later that year I think), although I had them digitised by the film lab when I had the film developed. Back to the picture, the view is of the impressive steep cliffs of the Oa, looking southeast from below the American Monument. I don’t think this view will have changed much, although erosion likely will have changed some of the cliffs a bit.
