A November afternoon out on Kilchoman beach on the west coast of Islay, looking out over Machir Bay and the Atlantic from near the wreck of the Patti. Some heavy dark clouds overhead with some heavy rain on the horizon (luckily it didn’t get to the beach while I was there)
Originally I had come to the top of Loch Indaal to watch geese coming in for the roost. They did come in, although not as good and photogenic as I had hoped. While it was cloudy the vast majority of the time the sun did make a few brief appearances. Here a bright spot appeared in the clouds above Bowmore distillery, reflecting on Loch Indaal

In the front some of the old warehouses from the original Port Ellen distillery, at some point shut down. Behind it to the right the industrial Port Ellen maltings and to the left the rebuilt and reopened distillery with lots of glass and other modern features.
