An overcast summer day in the south of Islay, a calm scene at the southern end of the Big Strand at Kintra. Some big rocks dotted around the beach with some water lapping up the beach.
It’s only a small standing stone, but it does get a mention on the OS map. Found near Frachdale not far off the track from Kintra to Soldier’s Rock. Kintra in the distance just off the beach, the Paps of Jura in the far distance on the horizon.
The longest beach on Islay by some margin, the Big Strand at Laggan Bay. Several miles of (almost) uninterrupted beach. Here seen from the southern end at Kintra, looking north.
