Driving out to Kilchoman having just arrived on the evening boat on a cloudy and moody June evening. Loch Gorm in the distance. A slightly brighter spot on the horizon suggested better weather, although it turned out to be a false hope.

Standing next to the Kilchoman road overlooking Loch Gorm, the memorial cairn and plaque for the Kilchoman Bards. The inscription reads:
