The hut under the cliff at Lower Killeyan, Isle of Islay

Panoramic picture of a hut under an overhanging steep cliffI don’t know what it is/was used for, but I found this hut under the overhanging steep cliffs at Lower Killeyan quite fascinating. Not sure how safe it is though, considering it looks like there was some very heavy rock fall right next to it…

Panoramic picture of a burn (stream) flowing over a beach into the seaA panoramic view from a June late afternoon on the beach at Lower Killeyan on the Oa in the south of Islay. Having rushed down the steep Eas Mòr waterfall Abhainn Ghil is flowing over the beach and into the sea.

Panoramic picture of a waterfall and its outflow hidden behind an earth wallA panoramic view of Eas Mòr waterfall at Lower Killeyan on the Oa in the south of Islay. The view is from the earth/rock wall hiding the waterfall from general view, the only way to see it is from above or by climbing on to the wall. Or if you’re really adventurous you can wade along Abhainn Ghil to stand below it. It is well hidden from view from the beach and the sea.
