April night sky over Machir Bay, Isle of Islay

Picture of night sky with thousands of stars of a bay with a beach, some clouds on the horizonReturning to Kilchoman from a music evening out at the Port Charlotte Hotel I noticed it was a quite clear night. Clear nights on Islay are often spectacular as there is very little light pollution, so I decided to head out to Kilchoman beach for a view of the night sky over Machir Bay. I wasn’t disappointed, while there were a few clouds on the horizon (and the light from Portnahaven and Port Wemyss lit them up in the long term exposure) the starry night sky over Machir Bay was still amazing!
