Waves, clouds and sunlight in Machir Bay, Isle of Islay

A breezy November day in Machir Bay, a big swell rolling in from the west with the waves breaking as they reach the shore. In some places spray is thrown high in the air. I like how some bright sunlight from a break in the clouds is reflecting on the water while there are still heavy clouds above.

You need a bit of luck to see this scene in Machir Bay as this interestingly shaped natural channel at times is filled up with sand, at other times is free like when I took this picture. When it’s free it’s nice to watch the water going in and out and splashing into the small pool at the end.
