A view of the Calmac ferry MV Hebridean Isles approaching Port Askaig along the Sound of Islay. In the distance McArthur’s Head lighthouse at the southern end of the sound.
A picture of me on a walk in the south east of Islay a few years back, courtesy of my sister Imke. We had walked from Ardtalla to Proaig together, my sister then rested at Proaig while I continued to McArthur’s Head. Here I am returning to Proaig to pick up my sister for the walk back to Ardtalla.
A view of McArthur’s Head lighthouse at the southern end of the Sound of Islay. We are looking down at the lighthouse from the walled grounds, following the line of the elegantly curved wall.
