A less common view from Saligo, looking back to the dunes instead of out over the bay and to the Atlantic. Some of the rocky outcrops in the sandy beach below the sand dunes. Also some dramatic clouds overhead. My shadow pointing at it all.

A panoramic view in late November 2025 from the dune path leading to the beach in Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay. Waves rolling in from the Atlantic. I quite like the photogenic band of clouds in the distance while there are blue skies above us. The low but still bright afternoon sun on the left providing some beautiful light.

Taken during a drive from Kilchoman to Saligo, a view over a flooded field in the rugged Rhinns of Islay landscape with the famous Paps of Jura on the horizon.
