Most people will know this distinct rock formation as you see it from Saligo Bay and around looking north. This is a different view, from the even higher cliffs behind them near Smaull looking west. Do you know what this is?

My sister Imke on the west coast of Islay during a visit in June 2013. We walked north from Saligo mainly following the coast. Here we took a break on the hills just behind Smaull, enjoying the views over Saligo and Kilchoman.
There are some dramatic cliffs along the coast between Saligo and Sanaigmore, these three near Smaull probably the best known, as they are easily visible from Saligo Bay. Depending on who you ask the name might vary.
