Admittedly not as big as some of the other famous surfing locations in Scotland, but Machir Bay on the west coast of Islay has a fairly frequent supply of waves. Here’s a young man surfing one in April 2014.

Picture of two surfers in the waves at sunsetTwo boys with their surfboards (I think one was a full surfboard, the other a bodyboard, if memory serves me right) in Machir Bay in October 2013. They made the best out of the comparably mild and sunny weather, staying out in the water until sunset.
