Must admit I don’t know what this Swallow photographed in June 2025 is bringing back and for what exactly. It seems to be some kind of stick, some grass seeds and some mud? Not sure if it was for nest building or to somehow feed the young ones?

Watched on the fence right outside of the south hide at Gruinart, a Swallow preening its feathers on an April afternoon. A bit closer than one I watched a few years ago.
There are some Swallows nesting at the old hide at RSPB Gruinart, quite difficult to catch in flight, they are so fast. Luckily one of them decided to take a break and pose for me on a fence just outside the hide.
