Barnacle Geese and a rainbow, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of a few Barnacle Geese flying in front of a rainbowSometimes you just have to be lucky and be in the right place at the right time. Combined with a bit of patience and persistence. I had stopped somewhere on the road between Kilchoman and Saligo to see if I could get a decent shot of some Barnacle Geese when in the constantly changing conditions of a November afternoon a rainbow appeared. At some point some Barnacle Geese were spooked and flew off, passing in front of the rainbow after a while.

Horse grazing above Saligo Bay, Isle of Islay

Picture of a horse grazing on a dune above a bayIn the dunes at Saligo Bay horses are grazing most days, this one standing on top of the dune with the bay in the background. Possibly the best grazing spot on Islay, although I’m not sure if horses can appreciate views.
