Picture of a group of stones covered in mussels on a beach — Mussels on rocks on Kilchoman beach, Isle of Islay

Only visible at low tide (and when not covered by the ever shifting sand), a few rocks on Kilchoman beach covered with mussels clinging on to them.

Those are actually limpets…. patella vulgata….. a lot less good eating a bit like chewing a squash ball, I doubt even a splash of Sanaig could make them desirable.
