A view from the path through the Kilchoman dunes on an October early evening, arriving to watch the sunset over Machir Bay from Kilchoman beach.

  1. Good morning with a memory of arriving on Kilchoman beach for an October sunset, Isle of Islay islay.org.uk/2022/03/05/arr…

  2. Depending on what he was doing he might have looked out over this beach every day (if he was stationed at the Kilchiaran radar chain link station)

  3. He was there building the airfield to take the big American bombers in from Iceland. He said the first bomber to land taxied off the runway and immediately sank up to its belly into the mud. He had a wonderful time & was very sorry to finish and be sent to North Africa.
