A beautiful November sunset watched from the best beach on Islay (in my pure personal opinion, others might well have different views), Kilchoman beach looking out over Machir Bay. Some clouds in the sky starting to reflect the sun, to turn red and orange later. The setting Sun just peeking through between the horizon and the clouds, briefly reflecting on the wet sand of the beach.
A slightly hidden gem, the small beach at Port Ban between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the Rhinns of Islay. This panoramic view is from November 2023, looking north-east. The Paps of Jura visible in the distance just left of centre, Bowmore towards the right.
One of the best sunsets I’ve watched from a Kilchoman beach for some time was this one in late November 2023. As the sun disappeared behind the horizon the clouds over Machir Bay lit up in some beautiful orange and red colours below the dark grey and black clouds. It didn’t last long, but was an amazing sight while it lasted.
