A view from the dunes at Sanaigmore, looking over the bay and out to the Atlantic north west of Islay. Taken on the same evening as the panorama from the east, when our hope of a nice sunset was thwarted by the clouds in the north.

A June evening in the north of Islay, on the eastern side of Sanaigmore Bay. The panoramic view covers the beach and the dramatic cliffs to the west, all on a June late evening close to the summer solstice. We had gone out to watch the sunset, hoping to see it set north of the headland, but unfortunately the clouds thwarted us.

Another view of the wreck of the Patti on Kilchoman beach in the incoming tide on a sunny June afternoon. Small waves are approaching from the Atlantic, breaking as they reach the beach and wash over the wreck.
