Picture of Laphroaig distillery in the evening light seen from the passing ferry

Not the clearest picture, but I love the light in this view. I took it with one of my first digital cameras many years ago, which is of course no match to today’s models. This was from the evening ferry to Islay, if memory serves me right on a wonderful April evening. Laphroaig distillery in the evening light, and yes, I’m enjoying a wee dram while writing this.

I’m not sure from where exactly I took this picture, but it’s north of Portnahaven, somewhere in the Claddach area. Probably somewhere close to the wave power station. The rocks out in the sea are Frenchman’s Rocks. A hazy sunset approaching in April 2005.

A late evening in Machir Bay, long after sunset. Only the last light is still visible in the sky, the first star has just appeared high in the sky.
