A view from the Islay ferry to the mainland on a stormy November morning (notice the waves breaking at the rocks on the right). Slightly difficult to make out because its colours blend into the landscape, but if you look closely you can make out Dunyvaig castle towards the left. Behind it the famous Lagavulin distillery below the hills in the south east of Islay.

A view from the highest point of the road to Kilchoman, near Foreland House. Looking east to the snow covered Paps of Jura on a November afternoon.

Snow only fairly rarely reaches the lower lying parts of Islay, let alone stays for more than a few hours. While not much I did come across the remains of some snow during a lunchtime walk through Bridgend Woods in November 2024
