A view from the Rest and be Thankful down Glen Croe on a beautiful April day during a journey to Islay. Some late snow on the tops of some of the mountains.
A view from an April journey to Islay, taking a break at the Rest And Be Thankful. The view is north west with the A83 on the right. Beinn an Lochain (just short of being a Munro) on the left, Loch Restil below.
A popular stop on the journey to Islay is the Rest and be Thankful at the top of the mountain pass between Loch Lomond and Loch Long. This is the view into Glen Croe on the Loch Lomond side of the area. You can make out the A83 coming up on the left. Below the old drovers road, which is now used as an alternative route when a landslide has closed the A83. Taken on a journey to Islay in April, still some snow on the top of the hills.
