Seen from near the northern end of the Big Strand, a view across Laggan Bay to the Mull of Oa with the American Monument. After some earlier rain the clouds were lifting, giving a nice view of the cliffs with the monument on top.

One of the clearest views I’ve experienced across the North Channel from Islay to Ireland. Depending on how you measure it this is somewhere around 25 miles / 40 kilometres. The view is from the Mull of Oa on Islay across the North Channel. In the foreground you can spot Rathlin, behind it Ireland.

A view from the walk to the American Monument on the Mull of Oa in the south of Islay. The walkway across a boggy stretch nicely visible in front of us.
