After a nice rest and lunch at the summit of Beinn a’ Chaolais it was time to descend and return to Islay from the first visit to the summit of one of the Paps of Jura during an Islay walking week.

A beautiful June evening on the east coast of Jura, on the top of Ardfernal Hill (85m) looking west. The Bay of Small Isles with Craighouse in the distance on the left. Towards the right the Paps of Jura with the sun setting behind Beinn an Oir and Beinn Shiantaidh, the two highest Paps. Not visible the thousands and thousands of midges attacking me while taking the pictures for the panorama…
