Barnacle Geese and Cattle at Gruinart, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of a large number of Barnacle Geese flying above a few grazing cowsThe cows don’t seem to be disturbed by the noise and impressive sight of the large number of Barnacle Geese occasionally flying up. May be they are used to them because of their annual Islay visits?

Hazy morning at the Kilchoman dunes, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of low and high dunes in the morning haze, cows can be seen on the top of the dunesReturning from the beach, a view up to the Kilchoman dunes in the morning haze. A few cows are grazing at the top of the dunes, their silhouettes standing out against the bright hazy sky.

Highland Cattle and Sheep, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of three Highland Cattle in a field, sheep in a neighbouring fieldI must admit I can’t remember where and when I took this picture (sifting through several ten thousand pictures would take a while…), although I’ve got a suspicion it was near Kilchiaran. Some impressive Highland Cattle in one field, lots of sheep in the neighbouring field.
