Balnahard beach panorama (1), Isle of Colonsay

Image

Panoramic picture of a small golden sandy beach in ScotlandFollowing on from the view north and the view south of Balnahard beach in the north of Islay’s neighbour Colonsay I thought I’ll put the two together in a panoramic picture of the whole beach. Here’s a view from the top of the dunes behind the beach. The Isle of Mull in the distance on the left, the mainland and Jura towards the centre and right.

Picture of the end of a beach, going over into a rocky headlandSome time ago I posted the view north at Balnahard beach on Islay’s neighbour Colonsay. Here’s the counterpart looking south. Jura visible in the distance under the clouds.

Picture of a view over an island, across the sea and to another island with three mountainsA view from an Islay walking week excursion to Colonsay, looking over towards Jura from the track between Scalasaig and Turraman Loch. The square building below is the parish church, just below it you can see parts of the roof of the Colonsay Hotel. On the hill on the right the Lord Colonsay monument, behind the hill on the right you can even catch a glimpse of Islay.
