Picture of a coastal landscape and view across the sea from a beachA beautiful view turning east as we are coming around Killinallan Point: Mala Bholsa on Islay’s north coast on the right, the Isle of Mull in the far distance, Colonsay on the left. Scarba on the left and Ben Cruachan in the far distance (thanks to Duncan for the correction)

The north of the Sound of Islay

Image

Picture of a view over a sound between two islands, two lighthouses and two ships in viewA view across the northern end of the Sound of Islay from the Isle of Jura. Jura in the foreground, I’m not sure if the small light has a name. On the other side of the sound is the northern tip of Islay with Rhuvaal lighthouse. In the distance Colonsay can be seen. Two ships in the sound, a coaster going north, a fishing boat travelling south.
