Admittedly not a direct excursion from Islay in this case as the trip starts from Crinan, but as it was linked to an Islay visit I still count it as an excursion from Islay. One of the best excursions from Islay is a visit to the Corryvreckan whirlpool between Jura and Scarba. Here a gull is happily floating around on the water in the whirlpool, Scarba visible in the background.
