A memory from an Islay walking week walk a good number of years ago. We walked in the hills in the south of Islay, where we came across some of the last remaining snow of the previous winter (the walk was in April). In the distance you can see the Paps of Jura, from left to right Beinn a’ Chalois, Beinn an Oir and Beinn Shiantaidh.

A sunny but hazy April afternoon on Islay’s neighbour Jura. The view is from the hills somewhere near Lagg, looking out over the Sound of Jura. Towards the left is Skervuile lighthouse, behind it slightly to the right a fishing boat. In the distance we first see the Isle of Gigha with Kintyre behind it in the haze.
