Islay from the Kilberry road in April 2024

On my journey to Islay in April 2024 the weather was very nice and I had a bit of time left, so I decided to take the detour via the B8024 Kilberry road. It’s a winding single track road so obviously much slower than the main A83 (not to forget much longer). But on a nice day like I had you’re rewarded with some nice views like this, looking past some fresh spring green across the Sound of Jura to Islay.

The counterpart to the Bunnahabhain view from the veranda panorama from a visit in April, this is the same view on a mostly grey, dull and dreich November 2023 afternoon. The Paps of Jura and the rest of Jura have disappeared. Sgarbh Breac only just recognisable on the left. No chance of spotting Colonsay, let alone Mull.
