Picture of two mountains towering over a farm at a sea lochA view from somewhere near Gortan (I think, probably outside the coal yard) across Loch Indaal to Uiskentuie on a brisk April day on Islay. The Paps of Jura tower over the scene, dominating the view.

Evening mood in Port Charlotte, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of a calm evening at a sea loch, some people on rocks near the shore. Strange light rays on the horizonA calm April evening on Islay, here with a view across Loch Indaal from Port Charlotte. Any explanations for those (faint) light rays in the sky more than welcome, as the setting Sun would have been behind us somewhere, not behind the hills on the other side of the loch. I don’t understand how they can look like they radiate out from a source behind the hills?
